Generative AI and intellectual property: new rules of the game for creativity
Artificial intelligence is changing the way creativity is created, protected, and shared. This necessitates a rethinking of authorship, intellectual property, and the relationships between creators, businesses, and technology
This was the starting point for the presentation and subsequent round-table discussion in which Ignasi Costas participated during the session organised by the Barcelona Creativity & Design Foundation, where some of the main legal challenges posed by AI for the creative sector were addressed, with David Lahoz taking part and Isabel Roig moderating the discussion.
Ignasi analysed the main legal implications of AI for intellectual property: the authorship of works generated by AI, the role of human intervention in the creative process, and the risks arising from the use of protected content to train these systems.
We would like to extend our special thanks to Eugènia Martí and the team at the Barcelona Creativity & Design Foundation for organising the event and for creating spaces for reflection on the future of creativity in the age of AI.
