RCD strengthens its insurance litigation practice with the recruitment of Carolina Revenga
RCD continues to expand its dispute resolution practice with the addition of Carolina Revenga as a partner, strengthening the position of the firm in insurance litigation, civil liability, and alternative dispute resolution. Her appointment follows the recent arrival of Javier Martínez and consolidates a team of highly specialised professionals in a field that combines high technical complexity with increasing regulatory sophistication
With over 20 years’ experience, Carolina Revenga specialises in the management and defence of claims of all kinds, covering both property damage and civil liability. Throughout her career, she has been involved in some of the most complex disputes in the sector and regularly advises national and international insurers and companies on coverage disputes and insurance conflicts. She also has significant experience in product liability, particularly in the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors, where she has advised on a high volume of claims, combining a procedural approach with regulatory and strategic analysis, including the management of media and organisational crises. Her practice also encompasses representation before courts of various jurisdictions and alternative dispute resolution. Carolina is an accredited mediator with the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR) and the Spanish Ministry of Justice; she holds a Master’s degree in Negotiation from the London School of Economics; and she is a founder and member of the FIDE Mediation Centre, one of the leading institutions in the Spanish legal ecosystem in the field of alternative dispute resolution.
With the addition of Carolina to the team, RCD consolidates a highly specialised practice in insurance litigation, capable of advising on both the management and resolution of complex industrial risk claims and disputes relating to financial lines (directors’ and officers’ liability, professional liability and cybersecurity), as well as claims for property damage and general and product liability.. This combination of expertise enables the firm to support insurers, reinsurers, and companies across the full range of disputes typical of the sector, from the preliminary phase through to litigation or out-of-court settlement.
Adolf Rousaud, co-managing partner at RCD, states: “Carolina’s appointment brings to our litigation team a highly valuable combination of experience in insurance litigation, sector-specific knowledge of the medical device and pharmaceutical sectors, and a strong capacity for mediation and alternative dispute resolution. Her profile complements that of the other partners in the practice area and enables us to support our clients with a comprehensive view of dispute management”.
In the same spirit, Ignasi Costas, co-managing partner of the firm, notes that “insurance litigation requires a very specific specialisation, which we at RCD address in depth. Carolina’s arrival, together with the recent appointment of Javier, reinforces the commitment of RCD to building a leading team in this field, against a backdrop of increasing litigation in areas such as D&O, cybersecurity, and product liability”.
For her part, Carolina Revenga emphasises that “joining RCD means becoming part of a project with a very clear identity and a solid dispute resolution practice, backed by in-depth knowledge of the insurance sector. I fully share their approach, based on specialist expertise, client focus and a commitment to offering solutions that go beyond litigation when the case allows for it”.
