The global firm, DWF, will once again operate in Spain as RCD with the aim of consolidating its strong name recognition Spain

DWF-RCD, part of the DWF Group, headquartered in London, announces a change to its corporate brand that will combine RCD's heritage and strong name recognition in its home market whilst reinforcing its position as integral to the global strategy of the DWF Group

RCD came into existence as a dynamic and innovative law firm with the steadfast intention of becoming a firm of reference in comprehensive legal advice with extensive knowledge of the sectors in which it operates. Years down the road, and following integration with DWF at the end of 2019, the firm maintains its founding enthusiasm, the values that motivated its creation – passion, innovation, transparency, independence, rigour, technical quality, disruptive and entrepreneurial spirit, diversity and international vision – and above all, its people-oriented focus, both on clients and on the professionals who form a part of the business.

In the words of Ignasi Costas, co-managing partner of RCD: “RCD is the brand name that helped us to grow and it is the name that resonates most with our clients. Operating again as RCD will strengthen our position in Spain, but importantly, it will strengthen and support DWF Group as well. As a global business, DWF is capable of being flexible and adapting to the needs of local markets and this decision means we can retain strong name recognition in our market whilst continuing to be part of the global team through our shared culture and values".

In the words of Adolf Rousaud, co-managing partner of RCD: “This year we'll be celebrating our 20th anniversary. Over the course of these years, we have become a firm of reference in the legal market, with offices in Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, and Seville, and more than 400 professionals led by 47 partners. Our aspiration to continue growing is aimed at responding to the needs of our clients and our commitment to our team, to whom we want to continue offering a highly appealing project. We are truly grateful to the Group for their trust in our work, which is shown in their confidence in the RCD name, which has always had a strong recognition in the Spanish market”.

In the words of Matthew Doughty, DWF's Chief Growth & Strategy Officer: “At DWF, we are focused on the needs of our clients and understand the subtleties of each sector and territory. We are very proud of the path travelled since our union and of the future challenges that lie ahead, and for this reason, we believe there is now an opportunity for further progression in Spain and other markets, such as Portugal and Latin America. RCD is a strong and recognised brand name which will help us achieve our global aspirations."
