Biotech start-up, Inbrain, closes a USD 50 million funding round to promote the development of graphene-based neural therapies

Inbrain Neuroelectronics, a leading company of the biomedical ecosystem, closed a USD 50 million funding round. The transaction was led by Imec.xpand, with significant participation by the EIC Fund (venture capital wing of the European Innovation Council), FOND-ICO, and Avançsa, and support from the existing investors Asabys Partners and Aliath Bioventures, among others

The start-up will use the new funds to advance in clinical trials and support the expansion of the team to accelerate the development and commercialisation of its Brain Computer Interface Therapeutics (BCI-Tx) platform, which offers a bidirectional solution to decode and modulate neuronal activity with high resolution in neuronal diseases such as Parkinson's, epilepsy, and in stroke rehabilitation.
