Factorenergia, partly owned by its founder and CEO, Emili Rousaud, agreed to sell an 85% stake to SmartestEnergy, a global energy company owned by the Japanese group Marubeni Corporation, for EUR 204M
Factorenergia is one of the leading independent electricity and gas retailers in Spain. With over 300,000 customers and a presence in several international markets, the transaction will combine its position in the Iberian Peninsula with the global capabilities of SmartestEnergy, strengthening the development of sustainable energy solutions and the transition toward a net-zero emissions model.
A team led by Adolf Rousaud and Javier Calzada advised Factorenergia and its founder on this transaction.
