RCD has advised the biopharmaceutical company, aptaTargets, on an agreement with the German multinational pharmaceutical company Merck KGaA for the clinical development and commercialisation of ApTOLL, a Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) antagonist being developed for acute ischaemic stroke
The alliance provides the technical and financial resources necessary to accelerate the development of this innovative therapy for stroke patients. In a Phase 1b/2a clinical trial, ApTOLL demonstrated positive safety and efficacy results for acute ischemic stroke, including a reduction in mortality and improved functional recovery.
